Dec, 19, 2012 Daily Devotion...

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…Jeremiah 29:11

                                         

Another year has passed by. It’s almost 2013, and for sure we have many plans ahead of us.  Plans to settle down, shift careers or move to a different home.  As we make these plans, we have to ask ourselves, are these plans in line with God’s will for us? Are these plans pleasing to God? 

Regardless, it is said that “Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails”.  Prov. 19:21

When we plan for something and it didn’t push thru, it only means that God has something better in store for us. Or perhaps His answer is “wait”. That there are things that we still need to know and learn before He lets those plans happen.

There are times when it seems like there’s no direction for us. There are moments wherein we feel lost and we don’t know what to do anymore. Sometimes I even ask myself, Oh gosh, what’s going to happen next? 

                                                    

But today I realized through God’s word that this is an issue of faith. That I have to trust that God is in control and that He knows what’s BEST for us. Prov. 3:5 says  “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”.  Because even if we’re as smart as Albert Einstein, there are things that we simply cannot fathom. There are questions that only God can answer. And in time, God will reveal all these to us. In His perfect time. 

 

“This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” Psalms 118:24. 

In the meantime, let us savor every moment and trust that God only has the BEST plan for our lives. So we can look forward towards 2013 with much enthusiasm, trusting that God has planned something great for you and me.
